Do I need ID to activate an Asia eSIM?
Most plans need no ID. Exceptions: travellers using the Asia Explorer in Hong Kong or Taiwan must complete real-name registration with a valid passport, and the Taiwan country eSIM requires ID.
Can I make phone calls with these eSIMs?
Most Asia eSIMs are data-only — use WhatsApp, FaceTime or LINE for calls. The Thailand eSIM includes a local Thai number, and calls to Australia are not included on any plan.
Can I hotspot from my phone?
Yes — hotspot and tethering are supported on all our Asia eSIM plans.
When should I install my eSIM?
