You'll be on the T-Mobile network, which offers excellent 4G and 5G coverage across the mainland USA and Hawaii. In Canada, you'll roam on Rogers or Telus. In Mexico, you'll connect to Telcel or Movistar.

Note: Coverage does not include Alaska or Puerto Rico. For those locations, we recommend an AT&T eSIM.

Important: T-Mobile can be strict with overseas models. Please check compatibility to avoid issues. Phones from mainland China (e.g. Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi) may not work with this network.

Yes – a local US phone number will be assigned when your eSIM activates. You can find it in your phone settings, or by dialling #686# once active. You may also receive your number via SMS after activation.

The phone number is only generated once the eSIM activates. If you’d like to retrieve your number earlier, you can choose to activate the eSIM a day or two before your arrival. Just keep in mind that this will also start your service period from the moment it’s activated.

No – cruise ships rely on satellite networks, which aren't supported by this eSIM. However, once you're near a port with mobile towers, your eSIM will reconnect and work as normal.

This eSIM is designed primarily for smartphones. While some tablets support eSIM, we cannot guarantee compatibility on all non-phone devices.

iPhone:
Once you’ve arrived and connected to Wi-Fi, wait for the push notification letting you know your eSIM is ready. Tap it and follow the on-screen instructions. If you don’t see the notification, go to Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Add eSIM and scan the QR code in your confirmation email.

Android:
Once you’ve arrived, connect to Wi-Fi and go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM (or similar, depending on your device). Then, scan the QR code provided in your confirmation email to install.

No – installation must happen after activation. Your eSIM activates automatically around 8 AM Pacific Time (Los Angeles time) on the start date you selected.

• iPhone users: You’ll receive a push notification when it’s ready.
• Android users: You’ll need to scan the QR code manually once connected to Wi-Fi after arrival.

Your eSIM will activate automatically from around 8 AM Pacific Time (Los Angeles time) on the start date you selected at checkout (typically your arrival date).

• iPhone: You’ll receive a push notification once the eSIM is activated. Follow the prompts to complete setup.
• Android: After the activation time, connect to Wi-Fi and scan the QR code in your confirmation email to complete installation.

Once the eSIM is installed:

• Set it as the default for Mobile Data, Voice, and SMS (in your device settings).
• Turn on Mobile Data and Data Roaming (if visiting Canada or Mexico).

Dial #225# on your phone to check your balance. You can also view data usage on your device:

iOS: Settings > Mobile > Current Period (or Current Period Roaming)
Android: Settings > Network & Internet > Data Usage

Note: Since this eSIM includes unlimited data, top-ups aren't required. If you need to extend your service, contact us before your plan ends.

If your trip is longer than the eSIM duration, contact us before your plan expires to explore extension options or purchase a new eSIM (a new number will be assigned).

Yes – hotspot use is supported within the US only, but speeds are limited to 3G, which may be too slow for heavy usage.

First, check your data usage to make sure you haven’t run out, and confirm that you’re in a country included in your eSIM plan. If everything looks fine, try toggling Airplane Mode on and off, restarting your device, or manually selecting a network in your phone’s settings.

Yes – the T-Mobile eSIM includes unlimited calls and texts to local numbers in USA, Canada and Mexico. Calls and texts to Australian numbers are not included, even if your friend is also travelling in the same region. Use apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, iMessage, or FaceTime over Wi-Fi or mobile data instead.

To call a number in Canada or Mexico, make sure to include the correct country code before the phone number:
Canada: +1
Mexico: +52
For example, to call a number in Mexico, you would dial: +52 [phone number].

Yes, you can keep your own number while using this eSIM. If your phone supports dual SIM, leave your home SIM in the device, but make sure Data Roaming is turned off for it. Then, set your travel eSIM as the primary for Mobile Data. This way, you can still receive calls and texts to your own number over Wi-Fi or regular mobile signal (depending on your provider) without incurring roaming charges.
