An eSIM is a digital SIM card embedded directly into your mobile device. It allows you to activate a mobile plan without needing to insert a physical SIM card — simply scan a QR code and you're connected.

No. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked to use this eSIM. If your device is locked to another network, please contact your home operator to unlock it before installation.

• Buy: Any time before your departure.
• Install: A few hours before your trip (you'll need a stable internet connection to download the eSIM profile).

Your eSIM connects to the Bouygues Telecom network in France, one of France's three major carriers offering extensive 4G/5G coverage nationwide. When roaming in other supported European countries, you will connect to local partner networks.

Please note: Switzerland is not included in the coverage.

You can request a refund if your device is not compatible or you have not yet activated your eSIM. Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 5–15 business days, subject to verification that the eSIM has not been used.

Before you begin: Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.

1. Open your order confirmation email and locate the QR code.
2. Go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM (or Add Cellular Plan).
3. Select Use QR Code and scan the QR code from your email.
4. Wait for the eSIM profile to download and install (this may take a few minutes).
5. Optionally label your eSIM (e.g. "Bouygues Travel") to distinguish it from your personal SIM.
6. Keep your personal SIM as the default for calls and data while at home.
7. Once you arrive in Europe: go to Settings → Mobile Data → select Bouygues Travel eSIM → enable Data Roaming.

Yes — we recommend installing the eSIM a few hours before your departure while connected to Wi-Fi. However, do not turn on Data Roaming until you arrive at your destination, as this is when your plan's validity period begins.

After scanning the QR code, the eSIM profile typically downloads within a few minutes. However, in some cases, network activation may take up to 30 minutes. If your eSIM does not connect immediately after arriving at your destination, please wait patiently and do not delete the eSIM profile.

Your default eSIM PIN is 0000. We recommend changing it to a personal PIN after activation for security. You can change it in your phone's SIM settings.

Bouygues Telecom eSIM QR codes are reusable — you can keep your QR code and use it to install the eSIM on a new device if needed. However, the eSIM can only be active on one device at a time. Remove the eSIM from your old device before installing it on the new one.

Registration is recommended to access your account and manage your plan. To register:

1. Visit the Bouygues Telecom customer portal or call 634 (English support).
2. Provide your phone number and receive a 6-digit activation code via SMS.
3. Create a password and provide your email address.
4. You may be asked to provide your name, address, and passport or ID card number.

Registration hours: Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm (French time, GMT+1).

• iPhone / iOS: Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Options → enable Data Roaming
• Samsung Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → enable Data Roaming
• Google Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile Network → select your Bouygues eSIM → enable Roaming

Important: Make sure you enable Data Roaming specifically for your Bouygues Travel eSIM line, not your home SIM.

APN settings are usually configured automatically. If you need to set them manually:

After saving, restart your device.

You can check your data balance in several ways:

• Online: Log in to your Bouygues Telecom customer area at bouyguestelecom.fr and select your Prepaid SIM/eSIM under "Manage My Consumption."
• By phone: Call 630 (French) or 634 (English support) from your Bouygues number and follow the instructions.

Yes, you can recharge your eSIM via the Bouygues Telecom website or mobile app. To top up:

Try these steps in order:

1. Confirm Data Roaming and Mobile Data are both enabled for your Bouygues eSIM.
2. Verify your phone is carrier-unlocked.
3. Check APN settings: Name = Bouygues Telecom, APN = mmsbouygtel.com, Username and Password blank.
4. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off, then restart your device.
5. If connected to 4G/LTE but data is not working, try switching to 3G temporarily: iOS — Settings → Mobile → Mobile Data Options → Voice & Data → select 3G; Android — Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Mode → select 3G/2G.
6. Try manually selecting the Bouygues network: search for "Network Selection" or "Network Operators" in your device settings.
7. If still not working, do not delete your eSIM — contact our support team for assistance.

Your plan validity depends on the package you purchased (typically 15 or 30 days from activation). The eSIM profile itself remains valid for 12 months, meaning you can recharge and reuse it for future trips within that period.

Yes — most Bouygues Travel eSIM plans include unlimited calls and SMS within Europe. This means you can make calls and send texts to numbers in any of the covered European countries at no extra charge. Check the product page for the exact inclusions of your specific plan.
