How to Manually Install eSIM on Pixel & Nokia Phones

If you're trying to install your eSIM on a Pixel or Nokia phone but the QR code isn't working — don’t worry. You can still activate your eSIM manually using the SM-DP+ address and activation code provided in your confirmation email.

What You’ll Need:

  • A stable Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection
  • The SM-DP+ address and activation code (usually starts with LPA:1$...)
  • A compatible Pixel or Nokia smartphone with eSIM support

Pixel and Nokia phones both use the same stock Android interface, so these steps apply to both.

Step 1.

Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Add eSIM → Tap Download your SIM instead

Step 1 Screenshot

Step 2.

Tap Next → When prompted to scan a QR code, tap Need Help.

Step 2 Screenshot

Step 3.

Select Enter it manually. You’ll now see a field to enter your activation code. Use the format below:

LPA:1$[SM-DP+ Address]$[Activation Code]

🔔 Note: Replace everything inside the square brackets [ ] with your actual SM-DP+ address and activation code. Do not include the brackets or quotation marks when entering it.

And that’s it — no QR code required! By manually entering the SM-DP+ address and activation code, you're fully in control of setting up your eSIM. It's a great backup option if scanning doesn't go as planned.
